About - Jack Hundial

ABOUT

I was born and raised in Terrace, BC and moved to Surrey in 1992 as a Constable for my 1st posting with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Since then, I have lived in both Guildford and Newton and this is where I decided to start my family. I retired from the Surrey Police as a Staff Sergeant in 2017 and I currently work at BC Hydro as an investigator. In 2016, I opened a small business in Clayton, where I employ 5 people and support other local businesses.

Get To Know Jack

RCMP

In my last 4 years as Staff Sergeant with the Surrey RCMP, I developed and led the Operations Review Unit. I oversaw the application of high investigative standards to every operational police file. The robust work of this unit is often highlighted in the crime statistics data that is published not only nationally but also for Surrey. My experience throughout the years as a first responder and public safety figure in Surrey have given me a unique perspective into the challenges across all sectors of public safety for a rapidly changing and diverse city.

COUNCILLOR

I hope to continue to serve the people of Surrey as a Councillor by bringing the experience and insight from both law enforcement and small business ownership to a new Council that is more engaged, diverse and responsive. Like many of you, I am frustrated with the lack of ownership our government has taken in the wider reputation of Surrey. We need our civic representatives to advocate for us at all times and not just during election time.

Next Step

The breadth of experience I bring forth in the areas of small business and public safety will allow me to work with various levels of government and the private sector. The multitude of experiences in the completion of successful projects demonstrates a history of seeking to understand through co-operation and providing the best value for our return on investments.
